Reflection of Stop Motion Project

This activity of creating a stop motion video was a really cool opportunity. The day Miss Alexis asked us what we wanted to do for the transformation was a day when I had a craving for tacos. So I decides that a smiley face would turn into a taco. Then that the taco would vanish and the words thank you would slowly appear. At first I was supposed to do it with charcoal, but then I changed to pencil and finally to clay. One of the challenges that appeared was the lack of clay. I was almost finished and I saw myself with no more clay, I had to buy more. But at the end it all worked out just fine. I thought of this project always to be a really cool project. If i had to change something I would change the fact that some of my pictures look different, this is due to lighting, or the clay got moved by other people. Finally, I don't think that animation is a career that I would choose. All in all, I really enjoyed this project.

Medium Selection

Now that I finished my story board I have to pick the medium. For a funny face turning into a taco I think i don't have much options. Never the less I think I will use paper. I will draw each scene and erase or draw in another paper. Although, I think drawing 250 papers is a waste, so I think I will go with erasing.I had considered making out of play dough, but after knowing I had to bring it I went with paper. Also with paper it is easier.

I had also considered other materials. For example Miss Firsty had suggested that I cut it out with construction paper. And that with every change I cut out something else. That is a very good idea, I think ti would look very good like that. I will consider that idea and the drawing idea. I think the hardest part about drawing is the erasing part. I know that some eraser leave a black stain. That will be sort of a problem. All in all I am still not 100% sure about what I will use.

Stop Motion Videos

After watching these videos of stop motion, I am very very impressed! These look as if they were videos, it is hard telling that it is a stop motion. I think stop motion means pictures looking as if they were moving. It would take many steps to make this. Like making the figures out of clay or lego or drawing them. Then you have to take a picture with the slightest changes. All in all I was very impressed by this art.

William Kentridge

After watching these videos on William Kentridge I truly believe that stop motion is an art. His work makes this look as if it were a video! When I first watched a the video I thought it was a video until I saw the comments. For a person who is blind I think he has a very impressive drawing privilege. For someone to be able to draw like that being blind is amazing. And it says that there are a series of erasing and more drawings. I am truly astonishes!!
I don't quite know what kind of technique he uses for making such amazing work. This is because I have never been an art fan myself. I would think that he draws everything on separate papers. But it says that he erases and draws again. So he make every scene on the same paper. Imagine drawing  a very hard to draw drawing an then erasing it and drawing another one again and again...  That would be very very difficult. In conclusion I truly admire this man.

Six Sence Video

I think that this knew technology will absolutely change the world. People will want one of these much more than  a computer.I was always thinking that this kind of technology wouldnt be invented in another 100 years. I would very much want one of these. You just put it on your fingers and you can do Anything.
The greatest things about technology are that you can do anything with technology today. Imagine how it will be more in the future. Everything will be so different. If right now you can do ALOT with some things on your fingers.
For me open source means that it will open for everyone. That it will be affordable and anyone can have it. I also think that this has a down side in the way that people can take  picture of you anywhere. Or even something simple like video taping a movie.

Social Media

I think that social media has highly changed the world. People now can contact people anywhere. Hotmail isn't used that much because you can email in Facebook. And everyone has Facebook! I even have Facebook since I was 12. I use it probably every day to stay informed. After watching this video I saw that if Facebook were a country it would be the 4 largest in the world. For me, that is very significant. I
was also very amazed by the fact that Ashton Kutcher and Ellen DeGeneres have more followers on Twitter than the entire population of Ireland, Panama and Norway.
Of course there is a down side to all this media. There have been many occasions in which people put to much information on their page. That helps the criminals find you easier. I read in the newspaper the other day about 2 girls who met 2 guys on Facebook. According to them they lived in Guadalajara. One day they said they were going PV so they invited them to Galerias. They met and after that nobody saw them again. About a month later they found one in Tijuana raped and homeless.
I  do agree in the fact that schools do need to prepare for all this media. Teacher are going to start putting homework and assignments all online. Kids will have laptops instead of notebooks. Everything will now be online.

Blogging

I want to use blogger to post things and let people comment. I am just starting so I don't know all about it yet. You create a blog by first creating a blogger account, then you follow the steps until you have a personal how ever you want it.
